Use the Import/Export Games toolbar button or select this option from the Utilities Menu to launch the Import/Export form shown below.

This form provides a means for saving and retrieving individual game data. For instance, game data may need transferred from one PC to another. Or perhaps just save a game in its current state for later use.

Easy-Scout XP allows users of previous versions of this application to retrieve game information.Use the Utilities Menu and select the Import Games option to display the form shown below.

Import

Use the upper portion of this form to import game information. To import a game you must first locate a previously exported game. To do this, use the ellipses (…) button. The file will have the same name as the game with a .dbf file extension. (I.E. MYGAME.DBF) After you have located your game, press the import button.

If the game you have chosen is not in your current data set, the program will automatically import your game data. However, if your chosen game is already in your current data set, the program will prompt you to "Overwrite" or "Rename". If you choose "Overwrite", any pre-existing plays will be overwritten with the ones from your chosen game. If you choose "Rename", you will be prompted to input a new and unique game name to save the plays to.

Export

Use the lower portion of this form to export game information. The export feature is very similar to the import process described above. However, you are allowed to select multiple games for export via the mover. To use the Mover List, select desired games from the Available list on the left and move them to the Selected Games list on the right. You can move games between these two lists by double-clicking on a game name or by selecting games and using the buttons located between the two lists.

The ellipses (…) button is used to locate the folder where the exported files are to be placed. Both the import and export uses a default directory or folder of: "[program directory]/data/export/games"

To import data from a previous version of Easy-Scout XP use the MDB Export, DBF Export Buttons to specify the program that created the data you want to import. Then use the ellipses (...) button to locate the EZGAMES.DBF, EZDGAMES.DBF or SSGAMES.DBF file respectively that was created by the previous application. You can use the Mover List on the lower portion of this form to select which games you wish to import into Easy-Scout XP. Click Import Selected Games to start the import process.
