Maintaining Lists in Easy-Scout XP Plus Throughout Easy-Scout, there are two types of "drop down lists": Intelligent, or Dynamic Lists, and Static, or Fixed Lists.
Intelligent lists are indicated with a red asterisk and are built and maintained automatically. As games and plays are entered, items are added to the list. A list item remains until no games in the database contain the item. Maintaining the list is done automatically.
Static lists are indicated with a black down arrow only, and are populated from a pre-defined list of values. The Modify Lists function, shown below, enables users to manage the items in "Static" lists.
The Modify Lists screen has its own "drop down list" at the top that is used to select a list to be maintained. In the example above, the "Result" list is selected, and its items, or elements are shown as rows in the grid. To select a different list to maintain, simply select the List Name from the Drop Down List at the top, or use the Mouse Wheel to scroll through the various lists and view their elements, or items. Each row in the grid displays one of the choices that will be shown on the Play Entry screen for the list that is selected - in this case, the "Result" list. Clicking on one of the items in the Grid, or clicking the New button will activate the "mini-toolbar" buttons on the lower portion of the screen. Use the mini-toolbar to Add, Modify and Delete items from the list. When a list item is changed, click the Save or Revert (Cancel) icon on the toolbar to save or discard changes respectively before changing lists. |
