After you install East-Scout, it must be configured to run on YOUR computer in order to remove the Trial Mode restrictions. We call this "registering" your computer, and it is sometimes referred to as "activating" your computer.

Trial mode provides access to 95% of the program's features, and will enable you to begin to learn and use the main features of the software. Also, any information that is entered while running in Trial Mode will be retained when you complete the Registration (Activation) process as explained below.

To complete the Registration/Activation process:

1. Click the Help Menu and select Register Easy-Scout to display the screen below. Your screen will look identical, except with one exception - the Hardware ID number.
   
   Notice the Hardware ID number area in the upper right of the sample "Register Easy-Scout" screen  below.  The Hardware ID number is unique to every computer (i.e. every computer will display something different in this space), and is used by us to generate a Serial Number that will match the Hardware ID. We will return a serial number to you by email that you will enter in the boxes at the bottom of the screen and click Register Now to complete the Activation process.
   

   
   
   

2. Send us your Registration Information
   
   Register your software using our Online Product Registration form. Be sure to include your Hardware ID number when you use this form.

   Alternatively, if you use an email application, such as Outlook, you can use the Send by eMail function to automatically create an email with your registration information and Hardware ID. To do this, enter your Name, Email address, Telephone number, and School/Team on the screen that is shown above. We suggest that you "cc" yourself to make sure the email was actually sent. 
   

   You may also Register and Activate your software and receive your serial numbers by:
    

   • Sending your Hardware ID by eMail to support@compusports.com
   • Clicking Send Hardware ID by Fax/Mail to print a page that can be transmitted by FAX or mailed. This tends to be a slower method and should be used only as a last resort.

   After your registration information is processed you will receive a Serial Number.  While waiting for your Serial Numbers, you can continue work in Trial Mode by closing the Registration Screen.  You can return to the Registration screen at any time by clicking Register Easy-Scout from the Help Menu.
    

3. When you receive your Serial Number from us, complete the final step in Registration process by entering the Serial Number that we issued to you, complete any missing information and click the Register Now button. You should immediately see a confirmation message that your registration was successful.  Once Easy-Scout is registered and activated, all restrictions are removed. 
    

4. Click CLOSE to return to the Main Easy-Scout screen.
   
   * Please note that each computer requires a unique serial number. 
   
   Easy-Scout is available in Personal and Staff Editions.  The Staff License option makes it possible to install Easy-Scout Plus on additional computers to share with other staff members.
