Play Entry
USING THE HEADER FIELDS
The Header collects background information for each play. The information
entered in this section is known BEFORE the ball is snapped and
usually BEFORE the teams line up. Data elements such as the Series,
Score, Down & Distance, etc. are entered in the Play Header.
When adding information to the Header, most of
the data elements will have "Default values" that are based on information from
the previous play.
The following entries or fields can be recorded in
the header area on the upper portion of the Play Entry
form.
SERIES - Enter an alphanumeric value to
identify the Play Series or to select it from the Intelligent Pick List. Entries
can only be up to two characters. The entry will be carried from play to play,
therefore if the default value is correct move to the next entry.
QUARTER - Enter the Quarter by typing the numeric value or select it from
the Intelligent Pick List. Two characters are allowed in this field. If the
default value placed in this field is correct move to the next entry. (For OT,
enter, OT)
GAME SCENARIO - Select a Game Scenario from the Pick List. Additional
game scenarios can be added by using the Maintain Lists option on the utility
menu or the scenario can be added later.
SCORE - Enter the number of points the team being scouted is ahead or
behind using the spinner. For example, 7 would indicate the team being scouted
is ahead by 7 points where as -7 would mean the opposite. If the default value
in this field is correct move to the next entry.
QUARTERBACK # - Enter the jersey number of the Quarterback or select it
from the Intelligent Pick List. If the default value in this field is correct
move to the next entry.
DOWN - Select the Down by clicking on the appropriate radio button. If
the default value in this field is correct move to the next entry.
DISTANCE (for 1st Down or TD) - Type in a numeric value or use the
"spinner" to enter the number of yards to go for a first down or a
touchdown. If the default value in this field is correct move to the next entry.
FIELD POSITION - Type in a numeric value or use the "spinner"
to identify the yard line where the ball will start the play. If the ball is in
the Offense's territory, a negative value should be entered. If the ball is in
the Defense's territory, enter a positive value.
HASH MARK - Select the Hash mark by clicking on the Left, Middle, or
Right radio button.
