Windows XP, Windows Vista, Windows 7, 8 and 10 Compatibility Easy-Scout XP Plus Version 1 was designed for Windows XP AND Windows Vista, and optimized for use on both operating systems in single user (home/laptop) and School environments. Easy-Scout XP Plus Version 2 and later versions were designed to work on Windows 7, 8 and 10. Since Windows 7, computers with small screens have become popular. Originally, these were called "Netbook" computers - "miniature" notebook or laptop computers that have keyboards, 10 inch screens and extended battery life. Today, a wide variety of miniature computers, as well as Windows "tablet" computers are available. The "Compact Toolbar" that first appeared in Easy-Scout XP Plus Version 2 is ideal for use on these miniature computers and tablets. Easy-Scout XP Plus Version 2.1 was a maintenance release to work better on Windows 7 and 8. Easy-Scout Plus Version 2.1.1 is the latest version (please note that since Windows XP is no longer supported by Microsoft, we changed the name to Easy-Scout Plus). Also a maintenance release, Version 2.11 (November 2015) added support for Windows 10 in the installer and includes two updated reports. On-Screen Analyzer functionality All versions of Easy-Scout produced after 2007 include an advanced analysis and reporting module that we first introduced in 2005 as the Easy-Scout XP Analyzer. The Analysis and Reporting module enhances BOTH the on-screen Sorting and Searching capabilities and the Reporting capabilities of the Easy-Scout system. On-Screen Analysis and Advanced Reporting Easy-Scout now makes it possible to Select ALL or a subset of the plays in one or more games to Perform on-screen Analysis, Print Advanced Reports, or Export game data to an Excel worksheet. By Advanced Reporting, we mean that the 100+ reports in Easy-Scout can be used as "templates" to produce a report that is based on "user-specified" data sets ( for example, only certain types of plays in a game or group of games). Printer Selection - ideal for changing printers or sending reports to files (such as PDF or XPS) Click here for detailed instructions on these new features of the Analysis and Reporting modules
* XPS stands for XML Paper Specification. This new functionality was first introduced in Windows Vista, and makes it possible to print perfect "permanent" replicas of Easy-Scout reports to "file" when a printer is not available or printing on paper is not desirable. Windows 10 added a Print to PDF capability. New Toolbar functionality and a new Compact Toolbar (Versions 2, 2.1) A New Toolbar option controls include the ability to move and "dock" the toolbar in various locations, the ability to turn off the Toolbar, and a new Compact Toolbar that is designed for use on computers and Windows tablets with miniature screens. (Learn more about this new toolbar functionality in the Easy-Scout Online Help) Click-through play editing from the Play Analyzer (Versions 2, 2.1) A Shortcut Menu (right
click in the Grid) now makes it possible to click-through from the Play
Analyzer directly to the Play Entry screen when the analysis or review of
play data in the Analyzer indicates necessary to make changes or
additions to scouting data. Click-through editing can also be
triggered by double-clicking on a play in the Play Analyzer grid. Search and Replace (Versions 2, 2.1) Locate and change (search and replace) Intelligent List contents such as Formation Names and Play Names in seconds - a huge time saver when it is necessary to correct mistakes, inconsistencies or apply terminology changes.
